cancuncookies 100 posts giveaway!!

This is my 100th Post!!

I started this blog back in 2009 as a way of showing my work to clients and COOKIE friends from around the world...

I knew blogging was fun, but I never thought it would be such a wonderful experience. Through my blog I've met beautiful people, from different countries with whom I share my love for COOKIES... many have become friends and we care about each other. I've met some of them in person in Mexico City, and the United States.

I don't think I was the first person living in Cancun who started icing sugar COOKIES, but I'm sure no one here was teaching how to do it. So I bought a couple of books, and searched the internet looking for decorators... I found Foro FM (Mexico) and Cake Central. One day on CC someone mentioned two blogs that changed my life.

These first blogs were Bridget's Bake at 350 and Laura's A Dozen Eggs. At first I didn't leave comments, but I couldn't resist and I became their follower! Now I read and follow many other blogs!

I found Bea Roque, El Rincón de Bea a friend who I consider my "almost twin" from Spain (we share the same name, year and month of birth, I'm older than her for only 3 days!), and Pam (CookieCrazie) whose work is for a Mission in the Ukraine.

What I like about blogs, is that the person who writes talks from his/her own experience, and puts a lot of time and love to share what he/she knows, or has to say about something. As my friend Sugarbelle tells me, this is about being yourself.

I acknowledge that effort by leaving a comment. I know it feels good when someone says something about your work, or just stops to say Hi!

I've joined FlickrFacebook and Twitter... In this vast community I have many friends and I'm having the time of my life! I love to learn, share and have fun with the people I meet!

I want to thank my friends and followers by hosting a GIVEAWAY!!

Drumroll please!!!

A $50 Gift Certificate from Karen's Cookies!!

Me uní a FlickrFacebook y Twitter...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Twiteada!! Arreglada la tercera entrada... ¡¡¡A por la cuarta!!!

    ReplyDelete

  128. What wouldnt I want from Karens. One she is a doll alwways there no matter how busy she is to answer questions. She is amazing and I can only hope when I get a -page that I can be just as helpful as she has been. I am starting a page but wont be just cookies. It will be sweets and more but hmm I definately could use more cutters and I want some boo boo sticks as well as something I have none of which is glimmer dust or pixie dust. Some texture sheets would be nice and I definatley will need lots of different colors of gel if I am going to be making cookies and cakes to match other thinges am making. Thank you for the opportunity to have a chance at this contest. I love that you do your blog in both English and Spanish so that you can reach other readers that havea love of baking. I have a strong spanish heratige in my family but my paents never taught us Spanish because they didnt want us to know what they were taking about,. We had to learn through school. Or they would say the bad words in Spanish I guess so that it didnt make them feel so bad for cursing in front of us. Your page is very informative and I enjoy being able to come here an see the techiques iI will hopefully one day be able to use. Starting a new venture like this can be pricey so winning would be great. I would though be very happy for anyone who wins. I started to really realize my passion when a recent illness slowed me down. I needed to find something to keep me busy and keep my mind off of what could happen to me. I have a husband and a ten yr old and the thought of them with out me or me without them was scary so baking and other crafts kept be busy and now I have really found a passionforwhat id like to do, I guess theyae right when the ysay God has a plan for you from before you were born instead of fighting it go with it and listen to him and your heart and you will find what youyr passion isand where home is in your heart. Thanks again and good luck to everyone entering. I fell like this is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wins. Congrats on 100 posts and making it so big so fast. I guess with a ton of hard work dedication and love for what you do can take you anywhere. Regardless of how much you start out with. Best and Besos Stacey McDonnell BTW my maiden name is COLON as in Cologne for the others that think its prononced like a part of the body. Sorry gus but no!!! Thank you again.

  139. Ok. I've done it all. And I have to say that I would get a whole bunch of cookie cutters that are not in my current collection. congratulations! When I was in Riviera Maya staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in Cancun, I was able to get a modified version of the pastry chef's "rosca" It pretty much is a bunch cake - not your typical rosca - with chopped candied fruit. The only thing is that it was not too sweet and I'd like to sweet it up. Can you post the rosca recipe? Thanks.
