pirates of the caribbean cookies

This week, among other orders, I made these Pirates COOKIES for J's Birthday...

The only cutters I had were the Boy, Flag and Sailboat... I looked for ideas, and found great clipart and COOKIES in the web, and also made the Parrot and Chest cutters... the Parrot was inspired by SweetDreamsAT, from Cake Central, she does amazing COOKIES... mine was not perfect as hers ;)

I was very happy with the results, but next time I'll try another chest, as I found it a bit dull... I used colored sugar as gems, but still think something was missing or was wrong...

    PS i use Chefmaster gel food coloring, and for the ice cream cones I used buckeye brown.

    One more thing, Americolor makes a really chunky gold sugar that might look more jewel like.
    I also think I saw some new Wilton metallic chunky sugars in all different colors, blue, red, green and yellow.
